Super nice people and a great place to kayak, canoe or float in a tube on a pretty summer day!

The port a jon was a thing from your worst nightmares! The staff were super friendly and very helpful, my wife and I both got a tube and really enjoyed the experience! We will definitely be back!

Great to talk too, very helpful. 1 issue was I had a kayak that had a crack in the back of the hull and leaked water pretty bad. If I had no way to bail water it would have been a miserable trip. Not sure if they set it aside or not, be aware of a cracked kayak.

We just made it here and it's very quiet spot. We go kayaking tomorrow!

I’m very impressed with how friendly the staff is at New River Outfitters. Four of us wanted a 3 hour tubbing trip and Holly was very helpful with getting us set up with everything we needed. They are located in a neat old store that sells the usual drinks and snacks, plus they have t-shirts, bathing suits and beach shoes. Holly came down and picked us up at their private parking and camping area behind the store, right on the river. This will be our pull out spot at the end of our float. She then carried us up river to a very safe launch site and helped carried our tubes with our supplies down to the water. She wouldn’t leave until she knew we had everting we needed for a great day on the river. Thank you Holly, you and your team run a first class outfit!

They gave us a private shuttle because of Covid concerns and that was really super appreciated. We were beginners and it was the perfect first experience. We will be back for sure!!

Staff was friendly, attentive and helpful....especially John. He took time to talk to my Autistic son about all the critters that could be found in and along the river banks. We decided to canoe instead of tube....cuts trip time in half, and 1 1/2 hrs was just perfect for us!

A well run outfitter. I arrived, settled payment and was delivered to my destination. Joe, helped me load and launch my kayak. I stopped by later in my trip for a break and had a snack. The place was packed. You don't have customers lined up out the door unless you're doing something well.Holly and her team are top notch! I shall return! Thanks Holly!

Great folks! Several fun trips to choose from, lazy tubing to canoeing to kayaking. A few small rapids depending on which way you go. Mostly it's just a fun, peaceful, relaxing ride the beautiful New River! State Park close by.

I went tubing with my grandma and brother it was so much fun! The prices were fairly low. Took us about an hour to get down the river. I would definitely recommend!

Tubing with New River Outfitters was so fun and relaxing. We saw an osprey, Turk's Cap Lilies, and so many damsel flies! I will definitely do this again.

If you are looking for a outfitter on the New River, stop looking. Stop in to paddle or if you are in the area and tell them Monkey N Around sent you. Holly is great and she helped me plan a trip and made everything easy.

A group of about 15 of us went down on a Sunday afternoon after a weekend of Cub Scout camping at New River State Park. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We did the one hour float down the river which was just enough after a weekend of camping. I would use this firm again for other outings with scouts or my family.

We went this time last year there was 8 of us on a 3 day trip it was a great time the scenery was awesome deer all kinds of places to stop and fish we are going back next weekend for another 3 day trip the owner are good people ready for next weekend

Title says it all New River Outfitters I've been going up there for years and years and years camping kayaking canoeing tubing oh I love that River you need to get away this is definitely the place to go get your head back on right they offer all kind of different tours 2 Hour 3 hour 5 hours there's one trip that will take you all day long you start there and go all the way to the mouth of Wilson in Virginia I've never had a problem with any of the equipment over the years they got a decent little camping spot right beside the river but they do not have any bathroom utilities all they have is a porta-john just to give you a heads up if you're going to go camping I don't have any motorhome hookups no water sites no power sites but if you're going to go kayaking or tube if it's just for the day it's a great place to go and pack you a bag of water and food for the day. also don't forget your sunblock because you will get sunburned

I was nervous to take my 2 and 3 year olds out on the river, but we did it anyway. We canoed the shortest trip, which was like 2 hours with the current doing most of the work.My family loved it, and we will be back soon.

Went on a two hour ride down river and had a very good time. The price was reasonable, the staff was attentive and helpful, and the river views were beautiful. Highly recommended!

Not really what I was hoping for, only had one bathroom and it needed cleaned. The field where we camped at could have been mowed, also it would have been nice to have walkways down to the river instead of having to cut a path.

We love the scenery. We love the staff at the store and at the raft rentals, both on site of the campground. They offer a fire ring and a picnic table. Plan around that. The raft service offers a variety of trips for tube floating and canoes/kayaks. They will also carry you up as far as you care to go and drop you and your floats off for a small charge. Those guys are great! Well I hope that you'll go enjoy some time there soon.

Wonderful slow trip down the river , wouldn't be afraid to take younger children . Most of the river was knee to waist deep , not a very strong current , with no rapids . All of the staff was very nice , ca t wait to take the trip again !!!

So accommodating! The fellows who helped us in and out of the water were very friendly and respectful and helpful. And they were both local teachers, employed by former students who now own NRO. How cool is that?!

I had an excellent experience here with my cousin today. Everyone on the staff was polite and helpful on the phone and in person. We asked for advice and tips and the lady who signed us up gave us great info. Preston, the van driver, was especially accommodating by driving us so we wouldn't get motion sickness on the ride to the launch site and he helped us novice kayakers get launched and on our way. The equipment was in fine shape and the general store was quaint while carrying a few necessities for water sport visitors (water shoes, snacks, drinks, shirts, etc). The indoor bathroom was clean and there was a portapotty down the hill nearer to the river.
